Los Angeles developed rapidly in the 40s and 50s, and therefore grew on the era’s up-and-coming force: the car. Like in other cities in the western United States, low-level buildings and broad streets comprise the sprawling city, making public transit travel from point A to B a day-long affair.
And yet, many travelers come to the city in the hopes of seeing the sights without a car. Good news: this can be done. However, seeing the city’s entirety without four wheels in a three-day trip is not recommended.
