District Attorney Monique Lamont (Andie MacDowell) is running for Governor. The stakes are high. She announces a heroic plan to build the New England Center for Forensic Science and puts her best investigator, Win Garano (Daniel Sunjata) on a cold case in Knoxville, Tennessee to prove that her department can solve any crime, no matter how old. Monique’s nickname in the city is “Money” and Garano has acquired the nickname “Geronimo.” They are on the same team, but the friction between them is intense.

With the help of his friend (Annabeth Gish) in Knoxville, Will is able to follow some leads down there but at the same time he gets entangled in an incident in Boston. Lamont is the target of a would-be assassin, and Win is up to his neck trying to solve two cases at once.

As things come together it seems that the two cities of Knoxville and Boston are not that far apart. There is a link between what is happening in Boston and the cold case murder in Knoxville. Lamont has herself entangled in a web of secrets and crimes that are hitting close to home.
